Shawna Crabill, Marriage Therapist, Family Therapist, Individual Therapist, Couple Therapist, Therapist

Our emotions are affected by our thoughts, meaning that whatever we feel is because of the way we think. To be happy, you have to have happy thoughts. You should therefore at all time focus on positive thoughts, and if you have negative thoughts, we should convert them into liberal views.

There are a million ways through which you can transform negative thoughts into positive ones. First is by identifying areas in yourself that people think negatively. It could be our relationships our work or maybe our friends! The next step is to see the positive things about this stuff and change your perspectives on them to a more prosperous and happy one.

Another way is by constant check on what is in your minds. If you always find that your thoughts tend to steer towards the negative, try to find a way to put a convert them to positive thoughts. In addition, it is important to let humor in during all happenings especially when going through tough times. For instance, when stuck in traffic, instead of being furious and frustrated about it all, you can simply think that at the end of the day you will get home.

Just choose to be happy, it is as easy as that!

Practicing self-positive talk is a perfect way of converting negative thoughts into positive ones and s a starting point, never says anything to you that you would never say to someone else. Be proud of yourself and think of your achievements, however little. Let us say you are in a position of luck, instead of being sad that you are poor and lack resources, think that necessity is the mother of invention and find a way to achieve!

Pessimism is contagious! You should avoid the negative company. Ever seated near a pessimist? You feel them take away positive energy around. The more you hang out with negative people, the more they drain your positive energy thus block you from reaching your potential positivity. It is even harder if all your very best of friends are negative people and are not ready to change to positivity. Detach yourself from such people, they are heavy burdens and leeches! Build a wall between you and negative people. Shawna Crabill, LMFT of Charleston, SC, can help you ultimately convert any negative thoughts into positive ones and live a joyous life.
