The Real Reason Why You Wake Up in the Morning

Shawna Crabill, Marriage Therapist, Family Therapist, Individual Therapist, Couple Therapist, Therapist

Do you really know the reason why you wake up? Why you still continue to go on? Why you do the things you do? Why you plan, why you eat, why you look for someone to love and be loved?

It’s not about having money, really. It’s also not to get married and have children. It’s not about sex. It’s not about having a car or something to eat for that matter.

All of the things we do every day, whether you are a poor, an average, or a filthy rich individual, all boils down to one single reason. And that reason is that we are in constant search for happiness. This search for happiness is what drives us to do all these things.

It’s all about happiness

You work not really to get money and buy things that you like. You work because there is this subtle voice telling you that if you do this or that, you will be happy. That if you have money and you can buy everything your heart desires you will be happy.

You look for someone to love, not really to have someone to kiss, hug, be there for you and love you, but because receiving love from someone makes you happy. You call a friend, you post something on Facebook, you browse your social media account, you eat, dance, have sex, sleep, shop, compete—all because there is happiness in all of these things.

Don’t waste time. Do the things that will REALLY make you happy.

There is a point in our time that we are lost. We do things mundanely. With no rhyme or reason, we just do it. Don’t punish yourself by doing things that won’t really make you happy. Find that thing your heart is telling you to do and do it.

If you are having a hard time knowing what you really want to do in life, you can always call the help of Shawna Crabill LMFT of Charleston, SC, to help you sort out life events and see the future more clearly.
