ADHD

Do you or a loved one have ADHD?

Psychological counseling for someone diagnosed with ADHD is different than working with someone without ADHD.  People with ADHD usually do not do well with open-ended discussions that have no clear agenda, because their brains simply work a little differently.

Helping people with ADHD to understand how their brains work can be surprisingly helpful and will give them an understanding of how to develop a clear direction in their life.

As a trained Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, I have extensive training and real-world experience working with people with ADHD. No matter what you are going through with your ADHD, I can help.

Anxiety

Do you feel obsessive, worried, confused, have difficulty concentrating, irritable, frustrated, and filled with despair?

Are you restless and find yourself pacing or trembling?

Anxiety is a real-life issue that can be triggered by a number of things.  Left untreated, anxiety can leave you seriously impaired and missing out on some of the best parts of life.   In certain cases, untreated anxiety can also lead to other conditions like obsessive compulsive disorder, depression, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), or depression.

Often times, anxiety can develop as your body’s natural “fight or flight” mechanism or it can be brought about by excessive stress.

No matter what the root cause, help is available for your anxiety.

Contact me today to learn how I can help you overcome your anxiety and live a happier, healthier life.

Parenting for Moms

Being a mom is the most difficult job in the world, but it can also be the most rewarding.

Life as a parent doesn’t have to be a constant struggle and you don’t have to spend every waking moment worrying about your child’s well-being.  There is a better way.

Often times, the parenting advice we get from our parents, our friends, and our family can feel insincere or subjective.  That is why talking to a therapist can be hugely beneficial.

Working with someone like myself, can give you the objective insight and guidance to help you not only be a happier mom, but also to be a BETTER mom.

Contact me today to learn how therapy can help you and your family.

Self-Esteem

Self-Esteem is a measure of our self-confidence, our self-value, our self-respect, and our own well-being.  Great emphasis is made in our society to have “high self-esteem”, but creating long-lasting self-esteem is not an easy task.

For those who suffer from chronic low self- esteem, therapy with a trained professional can help uncover the reasons behind low self-esteem, but also clear a path to HIGHER self-esteem.

If you or someone you love is dealing with self-esteem issues, then help is available.

Adolescents & Teens

Children and adolescents, or teens, build social skills and emotional intelligence as they grow. These things often lead to healthy, happy lives. But some kids have emotions or behave in ways that disrupt their well-being.

Learning about children's mental health issues can increase your knowledge of how to help. Certain skills can teach you to interact more effectively with your child. Seeing a therapist can teach you these skills. A therapist may also benefit children or teens. Therapy can be a safe space for kids to process thoughts and emotions.
